March 2021

I am writing this to you on Holy Saturday, the Sabbath. Both titles are indicative of rest – “to come apart for a while.” Following the pain of crucifixion on Good Friday and awaiting the joy of the resurrection on Easter Sunday, today is the in-between time of stillness. This is the day that whatever it is you have put up on the cross to be eliminated from your life dissipates in quiet consciousness, a preparation time for living life free of the constraints of your old burden.

This is the place where we come to know that God is holding us as the reflection of the light of the world until we are ready to take on our own individual realizations of that mantle. The dawning of awareness of a new life unencumbered by old habits brings peace and joy to our hearts and minds.

From Easter Sunday and onward, know that the springing forth of the renewal of your mind is a continual process, one in which you will experience many crucifixions and resurrections. Go gently, allowing space for Sabbath, the in-between time where the mental, emotional, and spiritual life truly unfolds.

And please know, you always have a respite at Unity Center for peaceful, nonjudgmental, loving-kindness. There will be peace in our time when we each hold it in our hearts.

Eternal Blessings at Easter and Always,
Toni King
Spiritual Leader

Unity is a positive, practical, progressive approach to Christianity based on the teachings of Jesus and the power of prayer. Unity honors the universal truths in all religions and respects each individual's right to choose a spiritual path. Unity teachings are based on universal spiritual principles that run like a thread through the world’s religions. These are laws that seem to govern humankind no matter where we live, how we view the Divine, or even whether we are aware these principles exist. Please join us on Sunday mornings at 10:30 am.
