Toni King will give her lesson entitled:

“Taking It Home”

Over the last several weeks we've discussed various states of consciousness and their relation to human evolution; how the human condition can result in worry, unhealed grief, and resentments; and, what to do about it using denials/affirmations, prayer, and meditation. Finally, we'll bring it all together with an awareness that, "God is an intelligible sphere whose center is everywhere and circumference is nowhere." - Book of the 24 Philosophers, 12 century.

UPDATE on Streaming

There was a glitch with the camera so we won't start streaming until sometime in October. You won't need a facebook account, just internet access via computer or smartphone. Please let us know if you don't have a smart phone to use. Also, we are looking for volunteers to help with the camera equipment...little to no experience necessary, just a willingness to learn. You can practice using facebook live this coming Sunday at 4pm with Cherie's country western band.

Here are some of the words to prayers and statements during the service. Many of us rely on Powerpoint and need some reminders.

There is one Presence and one Power in the Universe and in my life; God the good, Omnipotent.

There is a perfect pattern in this Universe, and I am a part of its design and wholeness. I believe in God, and I believe in me. I believe in my dream, my purpose, and my intention for all good. I accept my worthiness to give, receive and experience blessings in all ways.

Divine Love, through me, blesses and multiplies all that I am, all that I have, all that I give and all that I receive. I give joyously with a consciousness of abundance.

The light of God surrounds us,
The love of God enfolds us,
The power of God protects us,
The presence of God watches over us,
Wherever we are, God is.

If you would like to be included in the Women's Prayer Luncheon via zoom, please email me (Sybil). Once a month we have our regular format and the other Thursdays at 11:30 we are checking in with one another.

Unity Center for Progressive Spirituality

March 20, 2020

Dear Ones,

It is a great honor in my life to be of service to our commUnity in the capacity of your new Spiritual Leader. Although I personally know many of you, there are still many among our group that I have not yet had the pleasure of becoming acquainted since I began my tenure on the first of this month. Given our country’s current circumstance requiring physical restrictions, the desire in my heart will out-picture differently than originally anticipated. For now, we will best develop and strengthen our bond via various technology while we soldier onward through these challenging times, knowing all is in divine order.

My highest desire for Unity Center of Reno is to grow stronger as a commUnity of Unity Truth students in this era of social restructuring. Paradigm shifts abound as the norms in which we are accustomed to living are no longer functional and we find ourselves re-evaluating what’s truly important beyond air, water, food, and shelter (and apparently toilet paper, who knew?). Above all, we need to know we are connected to our Source.

Often, we can experience this relationship through human connection when we see one another as expressions of the Christ, and nurture one another through acts of loving-kindness. We also experience Source when we take daily time for Sabbath: rest in body, mind, and spirit; turning control of worldly concerns over to All That Is, Creator God. We each have a choice to make in where our attention goes. Keeping our awareness within and on God, as best we can, will calm the nerves and soothe the soul. Even now, Life is Consciousness.

Holding that we all choose to rest in God through prayer, meditation, and self-reflection as we spend more time at home, I also encourage you to reach out telephonically to your loved ones and watch for email and Constant Contact notifications from your spiritual commUnity. I am in regular communication with your board and other leaders at the Center in an effort to develop and pursue best practices in offering you choices to stay connected with us while our doors are temporarily closed.

Until then, know that you are loved! If you are among those of whom I have not yet shared a conversation, please know you are included in my prayers nonetheless. I am keeping the high watch for you and our entire commUnity, connecting with Spirit on all of our behalf. Whatever may come, the Highest Truth remains: God is Good and everywhere present. Please know, God is in the midst of this as well; and this, too, shall pass.

In Love & Light,
Toni King
Spiritual Leader

Unity is a positive, practical, progressive approach to Christianity based on the teachings of Jesus and the power of prayer. Unity honors the universal truths in all religions and respects each individual's right to choose a spiritual path. Unity teachings are based on universal spiritual principles that run like a thread through the world’s religions. These are laws that seem to govern humankind no matter where we live, how we view the Divine, or even whether we are aware these principles exist. Please join us on Sunday mornings at 10:30 am.
